Cancellation & Refund Policy
How changes, cancellations and refunds work for bookings made with our assistance.
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy explains how changes, cancellations and refunds work for flights booked with the assistance of Airline Front Desk. Because we are an independent travel service provider and not an airline, most rules about changes and refunds are set by the airline that operates your flight.
Every ticket is different. Before you change or cancel, contact us and we'll explain the specific rules, fees and options that apply to your booking.
1. Airline Fare Rules Apply
Each airfare comes with rules set by the airline. Depending on the fare you purchased:
- Refundable fares may be cancelled for a refund to the original form of payment, sometimes less an airline fee.
- Changeable fares may be changed for an airline fee and/or any difference in fare.
- Non-refundable fares may offer a travel credit for future use, or may have no value if cancelled — including many basic economy fares.
We'll explain the rules of your fare before you book, and again before you make any change.
2. Cancelling Within 24 Hours of Booking
Many airlines allow a reservation to be cancelled without penalty within 24 hours of booking, typically when the booking is made at least seven days before departure. Whether this applies depends on the airline and the circumstances of your booking. If you need to cancel soon after booking, contact us as quickly as possible.
3. Airline Cancellations and Significant Changes
If an airline cancels your flight or makes a significant change to your schedule and you choose not to travel or accept the alternative offered, you may be entitled to a refund under the airline's policy and applicable U.S. Department of Transportation rules. We'll help you understand the options available and assist with your request.
4. Our Service Fees
Our service fees cover the work we do to research, book, change or manage your travel. Unless we tell you otherwise at the time of purchase, or unless a refund is required by law, service fees for work already completed are non-refundable, including when a ticket is later cancelled. If we make an error in your booking, we will work with you to correct it at no additional service fee.
5. How Refunds Are Processed
Approved airline refunds are processed by the airline and are generally returned to the original form of payment. Processing times depend on the airline and your card issuer. We'll keep you informed about the status of any refund we're assisting with.
6. No-Shows
If you don't take a booked flight without first cancelling or changing it, the airline may cancel the rest of your itinerary, including return flights, and the ticket may lose its value. Please contact us before departure if your plans change.
